June 7 Primary to feature races for Supervisor, Recorder, 92nd House

Polls for the June 7 Primary election will be open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. 

Absentee ballots may be cast at the auditor’s offices in your respective county until the day before the election.  It is too late to request an absentee ballot by mail. 

If you have moved since the last election, you will need to re-register either at the auditor’s office or at the polls on election day. 

Republicans voting in the June 7 Primary will have a choice of candidates for the Washington County Recorders office, 3rd District (east) county supervisor post and for the 92nd House seat for the right to be on the ballot in the November general election. 

There are no contests on the Democrat ballot in the primary. 

Following are the candidates for the various offices (profiles of : 

Washington County 3rd District Supervisor – Marcus Fedler (R), Ainsworth; Bill Poch (R), Riverside; No democrat candidate.

Washington County Supervisor District 5 – Richard Young (R), Washington; no Democrat.

Washington County Treasurer – Jeffrey A. Garett (R), Washington; no Democrat.

Washington County Recorder – Teresa Mangold (R) Washington; Dawn Fall-Hayes (R) Washington; No Democrat.

Washington County Attorney – John Gish (R), Washington; No Democrat.

Iowa House District 92 -Heather Hora (R), Riverside; Jaron P. Rosien (R), Washington; Ty Bopp (D).

Senate District 46 – Dawn Driscoll (R), Williamsburg; Kevin Kinney (D), Iowa City.

Attorney General – Brenna Bird (R), Tom Miller (D). 

Governor – Kim Reynolds (R), Deidre DeJear (D).

U.S. Senator – Charles Grassley  (R), Jim Carlin (R); Abby Finkenauer (D), Michael Franken (D), and Glenn Hurst (D).

U.S. Representative District 1 – Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R), Kyle Kuehl (R); Christina Bohannan (D).

Auditor of State  – Todd Halbur (R), Mary Ann Hanusa (R); Rob Sand (D).

Treasurer of State – Roby Smith (R); Michael L. Fitzgerald (D).
