John Henry Beachy was born Dec. 5, 1935, to Jonas and Leah (Mast) Beachy in Hicksville, Ohio. John was baptized upon his confession of faith in his youth. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church and remained faithful until his death. John passed away Friday, Dec. 30, 2022, at the age of 87 years, 25 days.
On Nov. 24, 1955, he was united in marriage to Elsie Malinda Glick and lived in matrimony for 42 years. Elsie passed away Sept. 29, 1997. John then married Emma Beachy Nov. 25, 1999, and lived in matrimony for 23 years.
He leaves to mourn his wife: Emma; two children: Daniel (Susie) Beachy of Guthrie, Kentucky and Marvin (Emma) Beachy of Wellman; 19 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; a sister: Fannie of Burlington Junction, Missouri; two brothers: Lester (Lorraine) Beachy of Des Moines and Howard Beachy of Oregon; two sisters-in-law: Marge Beachy of Indiana and Laurine Beachy of Iowa.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife: Elsie; two brothers: Ezra Paul and Walter Beachy; two sisters: Esther and Lizzie; a grandson’s wife: Linda; and a great-grandson: John Aaron.
A funeral service was held Monday, Jan. 2, 2023, at John H. Beachy residence, Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona is caring for John and his family.
