Ida Belle Walker, 95, of Iowa City, went to heaven on April 5, 2022, after a long full life.

Services were held at Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Sunday, April 10, 2022.

Ida was born in Kay County, Oklahoma, on Jan. 22, 1927. She graduated Perry High school and played on the girl’s basketball team. She married Robert J. Walker Sr. on Feb. 16, 1949. She was a devoted wife and mother to her many children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She worked for Headstart and was a forklift driver at Sheller Globe before her retirement. Her lifelong hobbies included gardening, crocheting, quilting, and sewing.

She was a long-time member of the Sand Road Mennonite Church before it closed. She then became a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Lone Tree.

She is survived by her children: Carolyn Hacker, Lindy Snider, Robert (Joe) Walker Jr., C. Henry Walker, Miron Walker, Charles Walker, Terry Walker, James Walker, Mike Walker, John Walker, Benjamin Walker, Clinton Walker, Sarah Goering, Carol Dominguez, and Judy Ridgway; 51 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and her sister: Ruth Goody.

She was proceeded in death by her husband (of 55 years) Robert J. Walker Sr.; her father: Claude Hollingshead; her mother: Ora Hollingshead; her brothers: Jesse Hollingshead, Ralph Hollingshead, Orie Hollingshead and Thomas Hollingshead; her son: Philip Walker; and three grandchildren: Casey Jay Walker, Christina Marie Healey, and Richard Joseph Vickroy.
