Work Session
Monday – November 25, 2024
5:00 p.m. – Highland Board Room
The work session was called to order at 5:03 p.m. by President Nate Robinson.
Joslin Schott, Monica Jepson, Rachel Longbine, Karen Fink, Johnny O’Leary, Dan Ruth and Nate Robinson were present. Also present were Ken Crawford, Superintendent and Autumn Moyer, Board Secretary.
Longbine made a motion to approve the agenda. Seconded by Schott.
Motion carried 7-0
Mr. Crawford provided an update on the bond and handed out a copy of the abstract with canvassed votes in Johnson, Louisa, and Washington counties. Thanked the community for their support as the bond has passed. A tentative plan for next steps was discussed along with the steps being taken in preparation.
The IASB school board convention was held on November 20th and 21st. Ruth, Longbine, Jepson, Crawford and Moyer attended and provided an update of the sessions they sat in on.
Longbine made a motion to adjourn. Seconded by Jepson. Motion carried 7-0.
The work session adjourned at 5:43 p.m.

Board of Directors Special Meeting
Monday, November 25, 2024
5:10 p.m. – Highland Board Room
The meeting was called to order at 5:44 p.m. by President Nate Robinson.
Roll call was taken with Joslin Schott, Monica Jepson, Rachel Longbine, Karen Fink, Johnny O’Leary, Dan Ruth and Nate Robinson present. Also in attendance were Ken Crawford, Superintendent and Autumn Moyer, Board Secretary.
Schott made a motion to approve the agenda. Seconded by Longbine.
Motion carried 7-0
Longbine made a motion to approve the personnel changes as listed. Seconded by Jepson.
Motion carried 7-0
Longbine made a motion to hold a closed session as provided in Section 21.5 (l (i) of the open meetings law to evaluate the professional competency of an individual whose appointment, hiring, performance, or discharge is being considered when a closed session is necessary to prevent needless and irreparable injury to that individual’s reputation and that individual requests a closed session. Seconded by Ruth. Roll Call Vote-All Ayes.
5:48 pm. Motion carried 7-0
Jepson made a motion to return to open session. Seconded by Schott.
6:43 pm Motion carried 7-0
Longbine made a motion to adjourn at 6:44 p.m. Seconded by Jepson. Motion carried 7-0
