KALONA

Exciting changes are in store for The Appliance Barn; one of those, the business announced Monday, is that it has become a member of the Grand Appliance family as of June 1. Owner Brylee Miller and his team will continue their work at the Kalona location, ensuring a seamless transition as the business takes this step forward.

“I am very excited to join forces with Grand Appliance and bring our 160 years of collective experience to the market,” Miller said. “With our existing team still intact, customers can expect to see the friendly faces they’ve come to know, but with Grand’s expanded inventory, faster delivery and more robust customer service department, they should also expect an even better level of service.”

Grand Appliance is headquartered in Sturtevant, Wisconsin and operates 29 retail storefronts across Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, and Indiana. The business was established in 1930, and like The Appliance Barn, is a multi-generation, family-run company with a deep commitment to high-touch customer service, which includes having highly trained representatives in store and sending skilled delivery and installation professionals to homes and jobsites.

The Appliance Barn previously announced plans for a new 40,000 square foot facility, including a 20,000 square foot state-of-the-art retail showroom, to be based at the former CIVCO location on 1st Street in Kalona. Grand Appliance is excited to support and share this vision to create a premier destination for appliance shoppers in eastern Iowa.

“We are thrilled to welcome the Appliance Barn into the Grand Appliance family,” Anish Gauri, President/CEO, said. “We are incredibly impressed with Brylee’s vision for a new destination showroom and are excited to provide the support and investment needed to bring these already well-developed plans to life for the Kalona community. This aligns perfectly with our commitment to enhancing the communities we are a part of and providing an unparalleled shopping experience.”

Grand Appliance plans to offer customers an even wider selection of offerings, including the introduction of the GE family of brands (GE, GE Profile, Café, and Monogram) in the new space. The business is also eager to become a more engaged member of the Kalona Chamber of Commerce and broader Kalona community.

“It couldn’t have been a better fit for both organizations,” Miller said.
