Frank J. Moreland, 59, of Kalona, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2021, at Unity Point Health Trinity Hospital in Bettendorf from complications of COVID. A memorial service was held Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2021, at Parkview Church, Iowa City, with Jeremy Pickard officiating. The service will be available via Livestream at the Beatty Peterseim Facebook Page. A private burial was held prior to the service at South Gingerich Cemetery.
Memorials in Frank’s name may be given to the following organizations: Pleasantview Home Building Fund, Pheasants Forever, or Hillcrest Academy.
Francis Joseph “Frank” Moreland was born May 16, 1962, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of John and Carolyn (Klein) Moreland, Sr. He graduated from Regina High School in Iowa City. In 1985 he became general manager of DeliMart Convenience Stores, assuming ownership in 2005. He was united in marriage to Sheryl Hostetler at Fairview Church on Sept. 28, 1996. Frank was a member of Parkview Church and enjoyed playing golf, euchre, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife: Sheryl of Kalona; two daughters: Sydney Moreland of Austin, Texas and Allison Moreland of Iowa City; four siblings: John (Sandy) Moreland, Jr., Julie (Mike) Hahn, Sally (Glenn) Vidnovic and Molly (Jim) Molini all of Iowa City; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Preceding Frank in death were his parents; and one brother: Tom Moreland.
