There are two new Everence team members now in the office location at 301 5th Street, Kalona. Chris Nachtigall, Financial consultant, and Jennifer Freeman, Client Services Representative, have joined Kent Blossom at Everence where they help individuals, organizations and congregations integrate finances with faith by offering banking, insurance and financial services with community benefits and stewardship education.

Nachtigall brings with him a background in coaching, teaching and sports administration. He earned his degree in sports administration from Iowa Wesleyan University and a master’s degree in coaching and athletic administration from Concordia University in Irvine, California.

After 14 years in education as a teacher, coach and athletic administrator he continues to be a part-time athletic director at Hillcrest Academy. Nachtigall gained knowledge and experience in the insurance field by working as an independent sales consultant with Leichty Insurance and Financial services this last year.

Nachtigall chose to join Everence because he wants to serve people by building long-term relationships.

“I enjoy helping others use their resources to impact their communities and the world for the Kingdom of God,” he said. “I am able to use the skills I learned in coaching and athletic administration to help people in their lives and to reach their financial goals.”

Nachtigall’s focus as a coach was to empower athletes by giving them confidence to use their gifts to become the best players and teammates they could be.

“Working at Everence allows me to empower people to have confidence in their financial decisions and their personal goals,” he said.

Nachtigall and his wife of 20 years, Marena, home school their three children: Cohen, 13; Eden, 9; and Ayla, 6. Chris said he enjoys coaching his children in their sports. The Nachtigall family are members of and active in Lower Deer Creek Mennonite church. They enjoy living in their country home between Kalona and Washington

Jennifer Freeman of Wellman has a license in health and life insurance.

“I enjoy working with the Everence clients and assisting them with their questions,” Freeman said. “I enjoy both Kent and Chris who are good at building relationships with their clients.”

Freeman is a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School. She earned her B.A. in history and psychology from William Penn College in Oskaloosa in 2010. Before joining Everence, Freeman was an Independent Living Coordinator for Pleasantview.

Freeman’s father formerly owned Freeman Foods in Wellman. Her father, Bob, currently lives with her, allowing her to assist him with his health challenges.

In her free time, Freeman said she enjoys spending time with family, riding her bicycle, walking and going camping.

Freeman has three children: Daughter Natalie Yoder, who works as a CNA in the Mother /Baby unit at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and has three children; daughter Rylynn Lassy, who works at DJ’s Casual Café in Wellman and has three children; and son Malachi Bennett, who is a student at Kirkwood Community College.

Freeman is a member of the New Life church in Wellman.
