Delilah Edith Anderson, 94, of Kalona, died Friday, Aug. 5, 2022, at Pleasantview Home in Kalona.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 11, 2022, at the Kalona United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2022, from 4-7 p.m., at Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. The service will be livestreamed to the Beatty- Peterseim Facebook and YouTube page. Graveside service will be held at Northwood Cemetery, Grygla, Minn., at a later date. A memorial fund has been established for the Kalona Methodist Church, Washington County Hospice and Pleasantview Home.

  Delilah was born May 29, 1928, in International Falls, Minn., the daughter of Harland and Anna (Hanson) Lee. She was united in marriage to Theodore Anderson Oct. 12, 1946, in Bemidji, Minn. After marriage they farmed in the Grygla area until moving to Kalona in the early 60s. Following Ted’s retirement, they enjoyed fishing at the Lake of the Woods in Minnesota. She was a member of the Kalona Methodist Church, and UMW. She enjoyed cooking, baking, fishing, yard work, spending time with family, attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, and was an avid Viking fan.

Survivors include her daughters: Alana (Duane) Bontrager of Kalona, Joan Gerot of Kalona, Carol (Marvin) Bontrager of Frytown, Marilyn Anderson (friend Pat May) of Kalona, and Voncille (Kevin) Johnson of Kalona; son: Dean Anderson of Kalona; daughter-in-law: Teresa Anderson of Kalona; siblings: Jeanne Brenna of Cloquet, Minn., Vernon (Arlene) Lee of Bemidji, Kenneth Lee of Warroad, Minn., Gerald (Betty) Lee of Grand Marais, Minn., and Leland (Carol) Lee of St. Cloud, Minn.; 19 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Preceding Delilah in death were her parents; husband; sons: Keith and Ernest; son-in-law: Dean Gerot; brothers: Harland Jr., George, Ralph, and Earl; and sisters: Cerise Swanson and Judith Kotrba.
