Charles Kelly Harvey was born March 19, 1963, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Charles F. and Helen Kathline (Kelly) Harvey. He attended Mid-Prairie schools in Wellman.

Charles was united in marriage to Charlene Marie Fowler. He worked at the family Café Tavern and Robert’s Fiberglass in Wellman, before working at Kinze Manufacturing for many years, until his health declined.

Charles enjoyed racing at West Liberty raceway. That was his all-time favorite track with a crowd cheering him on. He also enjoyed spending time with his kids, Shawn and Julie, going to car shows, and restoring old classic cars.

He always put others first and was lending a helping hand to the ones that he loved. Charles died on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at his home in Williamsburg, surrounded by his family, at the age of 58 years.

He is survived by his wife: Charlene of Williamsburg; son: Shawn (Jasmine) Harvey of Gurly, Alabama; daughter: Julie Harvey of Marengo; step-granddaughter: Brianna Suire of Williamsburg; one brother: Richard (Shirley) Harvey of Wellman; three sisters Elaine (Darrell) Smith of Osceola, Barbara Aldeman of Wellman and Joyce (Randy) Swartzendruber of Kalona; father-in-law: Clifford Grimm; and special friends: Lynn and Linda Gorsch of Williamsburg.

He was preceded by his parents and a brother: John Harvey.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg is caring for Charles and his family. Messages and tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com
