A Babysitting Basics Training Course will be offered to help youth learn how to be responsible babysitters. Topics to be covered include employer expectations, caring for infants and young children, age-appropriate toys and activities, safety, emergency and first aid procedures.
The program is for any youth -- boys and girls -- who have completed 5th grade and above. There are two identical courses being offered this summer from Washington County Extension and Outreach. It is a five-day course from 99:30-11:30 a.m. each day. The cost is $30. Scholarships available upon request. Interested youth are encouraged to register as soon as possible, as each class is limited to 25 students.
Session 1 will be June 13-17. Session 2 will be August 1-August 5. Registration should be completed online at https://www.extension.iastate.edu/washington/summer-clover-university-day-camps-workshop-series
