Alma (Schrock) Nisly was born Aug. 13, 1936, in Bremen, Indiana, the daughter of Levi and Sarah (Yoder) Schrock. On Aug. 2, 1959, she was united in marriage to Daniel Nisly.  She was a homemaker and also worked as an aide at Pleasantview Home in Kalona.  Alma was a member of English River Chapel and volunteered in various ways at Pleasanvtiew. She enjoyed mushroom hunting, crocheting, sewing, gardening, quilting and being a grandma and great-grandma.  Alma loved nature, watching birds, and appreciated beautiful flowers.

Survivors include her husband: Daniel of Kalona; six children: Roger Nisly of San Diego, California, Regina Choate of Kalona, Sylvia (Michael) Pierce of Poway, California, Suzanne Schmidt of Grants Pass, Oregon, Marjorie (Phil) Forbes of Kalona, and Daniel Nisly of Kalona; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two siblings: Sylvia Ropp and Leo Schrock of Kalona.

Preceding Alma in death were her parents; and six siblings: Mary Miller, Judy Miller, Perry Schrock, Olen Schrock, Elmer Schrock, and Edwin Schrock; and son-in-law: Jacob Schmidt.
