The Lions had the defensive player of the year with linebacker Cale Yoder. Yoder was a force for the Lions, putting up 107.5 tackles. The more impressive part of that was his ability to sniff out plays. Almost one-quarter of his tackles were tackles for loss with 25 on the season.

The Lions then had six All-District players and two honorable mention All-District honorees.

Wide receiver and linebacker Keegan Edwards had 437 receiving yards on 36 catches. He scored three times through the air. On the defensive side, he added 44 tackles including four tackles for loss.

Lone Tree quarterback Harmon Miller had another great year and showed his ability to take care of the ball. He threw for 14 touchdowns compared to just two interceptions on the season. He was 76-156 and threw for 1,195 yards this season. As a defensive end, Miller had 19.5 tackles including five tackles for loss.

Tim Mills was an anchor on the offensive line for the Lone Tree rushing attack. On defense he had 33 tackles and 7.5 tackles for loss.

Alex Viner had a breakout season this year. The Lone Tree junior was a heavy contributor on the offensive end. He rushed 92 times for 677 yards and 11 touchdowns while catching 22 passes for 451 yards. He also threw the ball nine times, completing six passes for 104 yards.

The final All-District honoree was Will Hotz, who had 59.5 tackles for the Lone Tree defense. He was third on the team and also had four tackles for loss. He was third on the team in rushing, with 40 carries for 160 yards and one touchdown.

Cade Shield was an honorable mention selection for the Lions. Shield had a strong season as a defensive back, finishing second on the team in tackles with 60. He also intercepted a pass this year.

Chris Reichert was also an honorable mention selection. The Lone Tree senior had 24 tackles including 6.5 for loss and one sack.

Lone Tree finished 21st in the RPI standings, with the top 16 qualifying for the playoffs.

The offensive player of the year was shared by WACO’s Nik Coble and Montezuma’s Eddie Burgess. The offensive/defensive line player of the year was Kody Timm of HLV and the special teams player of the year Shae Summerfield of New London.

Kevin Smith of HLV was the coach of the year.
