Hillcrest Academy junior Yani Gutierrez was named second-team All-Conference for her work on the volleyball court.
Gutierrez did it all this season for Hillcrest Academy, moving positions throughout the year to adapt to the needs of the team. She led the team in multiple statistical categories including kills (53), successful serves (118) and assists (109). She was second on the team in blocks (9) and digs (89).
Gutierrez was one of only two Ravens to play every set this season.
Each team also gets two honorable mention selections from their own coaches. Those selections from local teams included Alyssa Brase and Emily Streb from Highland, Mia Graber and Danae McGaffey from
Hillcrest Academy and Whitney Willoz and Kylie Patterson from Lone Tree.
The players of the year were Helaina Hillyard of Mediapolis and Salena Sayre of Van Buren County. The coaches of the year were Erin Steffener of Mediapolis and Matt Zeitler of Van Buren County.
