The summer reading program is underway. Watch the website for activities: www.wellmanlibrary.org.

The Wellman-Scofield Public Library board of trustees and the director are working on a plan to reopen the library when they can provide a safe environment for staff and patrons. The library is considering a possible phased-in plan after July 1.

New adult fiction: “Truth and Justice” by Fern Michaels; “The Secrets of Love Story Bridge” by Phaedra Patrick; “The Summer House” by James Patterson; “Hideaway” by Nora Roberts; “Have You Seen Me?” by Kate White; and “The River” by Peter Heller.

New young adult: “Dare Me” by Megan E. Abbott.

New junior biography: “Abraham Lincoln: Defender of the Union!” graphic biography by Mark Shulman.

New junior fiction: “Pug Blasts Off” by Kyla May; “Magnificent Monsters of Cedar Street” by Lauren Oliver; “Dragonslayer” by Tui T. Sutherland; and “Busted by Breakfast” by Tom Watson.

New easy reading: “The World Needs More Purple People” by Kristen Bell; and “It’s Impossible!” by Tracey Corderoy.
