Although COVID-19 positivity rates are steadily rising in Washington County, Washington County Hospital and Clinics has not yet seen “a significant number of COVID-19 related admissions,” they said in a press release.

All services, including emergency care, primary care, surgical care for both emergent and elective cases, specialty clinic services, inpatient capacity and rehabilitation remain open at this time.

In addition to acquiring sufficient personal protective equipment for all staff, the hospital requires all patients and visitors to wear face masks through the duration of their visit.

The hospital has also implemented visitor restrictions: Patients in the ER can be accompanied by one visitor, who must remain in the patient’s room; patients in primary care clinics and ancillary services can be accompanied by one visitor; and patients on the inpatient unit are permitted one visitor per day during the hours of 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., who must stay in the patient’s room.

WCHC has invested in testing capabilities and offers the antigen quick test, antibody testing and, when appropriate, confirmatory testing.

Washington County’s COVID numbers have spiked over the last month. On Oct. 9 the 14-day rolling total showed 86 positive cases in the county; on Nov. 9 that total had risen to 224. There have been 883 cases in the county to date and 12 deaths.
