Washington County Public Health sets first COVID booster shot clinic Sept. 1

Posted

Individuals who have an immune compromised health condition can now schedule a COVID-19 booster shot to receive the same brand booster as their first and second doses. All individuals requesting boosters must have received their second vaccine at least 28 days earlier.

Washington County Public Health will host their first booster clinic on Wednesday, September 1  from 1 to 6 p.m.  in the WCPH office. Moderna is the only vaccine available at this clinic.

Booster shots are by appointment only, via the WCPH electronic registration. Link is on the Washington County Public Health website at washph.com/appointments.

If needed, have someone assist you with the registration process; electronic registration is the only way to register for the clinic.

“The boosters are for individuals who self-report and feel that they have an immune compromised health condition,” said Washington County Public Health Interim Administrator Christine Estle “If you are a healthy individual, the current guidance is that you should not need a booster at this time.”

Individuals are asked to bring their vaccine card showing first and second doses to their appointment. Also bring your insurance card to your appointment.

You may receive your booster shot at any COVID-19 provider. The booster vaccination will be available to all starting September 20.
