Virginia Martin, 85, of Lone Tree, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2020, at the Lone Tree Health Care Center. Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 16, 2020, at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Lone Tree, formerly the Sorden-Lewis Funeral Home. Virginia Sherrill Wohlhueter was born June 15, 1934, in Donnellson, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Freda Wohlhueter. She graduated from the University of Iowa nursing program. Virginia was united in marriage to Bueford “Jack” Martin on Aug. 10, 1963, in Donnellson. She worked as a nurse for Dr. Dudley Noble, Mercy Hospital, the University of Iowa and the Johnson County Traveling Nurses program. Virginia also helped Jack on the farm. She was a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star and was appointed to the state office of Grand Ruth in 1976. Virginia also enjoyed needlepoint.
Virginia will be deeply missed by her niece and nephew; cousins; extended family; and good friends: the Vincents.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Jack; and her dog: Fritz.
