Thomas J. Schreiber, 61, of Hills, Iowa, began his ultimate motorcycle ride, “catching the wind” on his way to meet his Lord and Savior in heaven, the night of Sept. 15, 2020.

A celebration of life service will be held at North Park, Lone Tree, on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 11 a.m. Social distancing will be attempted and wearing masks would be appreciated. Tom was born in Iowa City, Iowa, on Oct. 10, 1958, to Arthur J. and Velma A. (Wiese) Schreiber of rural Lone Tree. His education years were spent at Lone Tree Community School, graduating with the Class of 1977. Following graduation, Tom joined the United States Air Force, to proudly serve his country.

Tom married Joy Munie, of Belleville, Ill., in 1981. They were blessed with three children, Libby, Katie and Glen. They later divorced. He married Annette (Martin) Allworth of Columbus Junction, in 1990, becoming stepfather to Sam and Sean Allworth.

Tom enjoyed the great outdoors, riding his BMW Motorcycle “catching the wind” throughout the United States. He enjoyed deer and turkey hunting, calling in turkeys with his masterful calls and fishing for flatheads and catfish along the Iowa River that ran near his rural Columbus Junction home.

Tom is survived by his children and stepchildren; seven grandchildren; siblings: Pat (Jerry) Sexton of Lone Tree and Jim (Arlene) Schreiber of Riverside, Bill (Nancy) Schreiber of Muscatine and Betty (Bill) Gerot of Iowa City; and many nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and three sisters: Becky (Don) Green, Kathy (Roger) Slycord and Mary (Dean) Richard; and nephew: Doug (Kari) Green of Nichols.
