The long bus ride ended with a cool night of shooting at just 29% from the field. It was the fifth straight loss for the Golden Hawks.
The Golden Hawks trailed 15-9 after one quarter and 27-15 at the half.
Luke Boyse was the leading scorer for Mid-Prairie, coming off the bench to score 11 points on 4-6 shooting including knocking down a couple of 3-pointers. Boyse helped Mid-Prairie inch back late in the game, where they outscored Northeast 16-12 in the fourth quarter.
Northeast outrebounded Mid-Prairie 37-27, with the difference almost solely in defensive rebounds. The Rebels didn’t have the best shooting night, but took advantage of their second-chance opportunities.

Now after a three-game stretch on the road with three bus rides more than an hour each the Mid-Prairie team will get a break. They will host four straight games at Mid-Prairie over the next week. Things started on Tuesday by hosting Wilton.
Then league-leader West Branch comes to town on Friday. The Bears are 7-1 with their lone loss coming to Northeast. The Golden Hawks will host 2-7 Anamosa on Saturday in River Valley Conference play.
They will finish out the homestand with a rivalry matchup with Williamsburg. The Raiders are 2-5 so far this season.
