Richard A. Stoner, 63, of Wellman, died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2021, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Richard was born Nov. 5, 1957, in Ottumwa, to William Wayne and Pauline (Baxter) Stoner and attended English Valleys schools.  He lived in Iowa City for several years before moving to Wellman about 15 years ago.  Richard was a member of the English River Church of the Brethren and enjoyed music, church and crossword puzzles.

Survivors include his mother: Pauline Seaba of Webster; brother: Robert (Crystal) Stoner of Sigourney; son: James Robert Orth of Cedar Rapids; uncles and aunts: Myron Stoner of Kinross, Joe (Marylou) Baxter of Marion, Ill., Don Baxter of Kingman, Ariz., Marjorie (Jim) Van Polen of Bussey, Linda (Gary) Tedrow of Salem and Janice (Steve) West of Fremont; nephew: Nick (Sandy) Stoner of Fremont; niece: Kristin (Jeremiah) Woods of Sigourney; and great nieces: Taylor, Addie and Avery Woods. 

  He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents; aunts: Georgine, Donna, Sharon and Jean; and uncle: David.

Celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, 2021, at English River Church of the Brethren near South English.  Burial will be at Brethren Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the church.
