The Hillcrest Ravens went 1-2 last week, moving their overall record to 2-5 on the season.

Their 2-3 conference record has them at sixth place in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North standings.

 

June 23

Mediapolis 1

Hillcrest 0

The Ravens lost a heartbreaker 1-0 at Mediapolis on June 23.

The game was scoreless until the Bulldogs pushed across the lone run of the game in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Eli Ours went the distance on the mound for the Ravens, striking out six, walking one and giving up four hits. Ours also had a single and a stolen base.

Aidan Yoder knocked a pair of singles for Hillcrest, while Noah Miller had a single.

 

June 25

Pekin 5

Hillcrest 2

On June 25, the Ravens fell at home to Pekin 5-2.

Hillcrest scored a run on the bottom of the second, then Pekin tied the game with a run in the top of the fourth.

The Ravens retook the lead with a run in the bottom of the fifth.

The Panthers scored four in the top of the seventh to secure the win.

Eli Ours and Kobe Borntrager each recorded two singles and a run scored for the Ravens.

 

June 26

Hillcrest 8

Louisa-Muscatine 4

Hillcrest topped Louisa-Muscatine 8-4 at home in a back-and-forth game.

The Falcons held a 2-0 lead in the third inning, but the Ravens tied the score in the bottom of the frame.

Hillcrest scored again in the fourth to take a 3-2 lead, but the Falcons countered in the fifth with two runs to go up 4-3.

In the bottom of the fifth, Hillcrest scored four times to take the lead for good. They tacked on another run in the sixth.

London Schrock earned the win on the mound for Hillcrest, striking out four and giving up seven hits and no earned runs.

Eli Hours had two hits, two RBIs and a run scored.

Josiah Beachy had a pair of singles and scored three runs.
