Mid-Prairie school board member Jeremy Gugel fills boxes with food at Saturday’s final pop-up food pantry at the Kalona city shop. Volunteers handed out 158 boxes of food – nearly 5,000 pounds – Saturday. Since April, the cities of Kalona, Wellman and Riverside teamed up to distribute approximately 25,000 pounds of food to area residents over six pop-up pantry events.
