Mid-Prairie throttles Central Lee

Mid-Prairie won big tonight 60-7 over Central Lee to start off district play with a win. 
 
Central Lee was driving early in the second quarter, looking to tie the game at 14. Defensive lineman Josh Wallington turned the game around, taking a fumble back 96 yards for the scoop and score.
 
On the ensuing kickoff, Nathan Quinby recovered a squib kick to give Mid-Prairie the ball back. Less than a minute later Keegan Gingerich scored the first of four total touchdowns on Friday night. 
 
Gingerich had four total touchdowns and scored a rushing, receiving and defensive touchdown. Kayden Reinier had three rushing touchdowns for Mid-Prairie, pushing his total for the season to 10. 
 
In the second half Mid-Prairie had two interceptions, with Vinnie Bowlin and Cole Davis forcing turnovers. 
 
Bowlin also threw his first passing touchdown of the season, finding Jack Baker for an 11-yard score. 
 
The final touchdown of the night was a 8-yard rush by Tyler Helmuth with 11:55 left in the game. 
 
Mid-Prairie is 3-2 overall and 1-0 in district play. Central Lee drops to 0-5. The Golden Hawks go on the road next week, traveling to Williamsburg. 
 
The Mid-Prairie Dance Team performed a state dance routine at halftime.
