Mary Yeggy, 88, of Riverside, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2020, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.  Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 21, 2020, at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Riverside.  Fr. Bill Roush will officiate.  Burial will be in the St. Stanislaus Cemetery.  Casket bearers will be Mary’s grandchildren.  Following committal services at the cemetery, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the St. Mary’s Parish Center. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2020, from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Snyder and Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Riverside with a 4 p.m. Rosary. Memorials may be directed to the Riverside First Responders in memory of Mary.  Sympathy notes may be left for the Yeggy family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.   

Mary Rummelhart was born on May 25, 1931, in Riverside, the daughter of Roy and LaVerna (Gringer) Rummelhart.  Mary was a 1950 graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Riverside. 

On May 7, 1951, Mary was united in marriage to Richard Yeggy at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Riverside.  Mary and her husband owned and operated Yeggy’s Hardware in Riverside.

  She retired from the University of Iowa after 25 years of service.  Mary was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  She loved to spend time with her friends and family, but most of all; she dearly loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mary will be deeply missed by her children: James (Rita) Yeggy of Lincoln, Neb., Patricia Spulak of Bosque Farm, N.M., Suzanne (Jeff) Chapman of Williamsburg, Debra (Tom) Podaril of Columbus Junction and Eric Yeggy of Batavia, Ill.; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and siblings: Duane Rummelhart of Iowa City, Muriel (John) Metz of Hills, Leroy (Connie) Rummelhart of Coralville, Helen (Ben) Studnicka of St. Augustine, Fla. and Paul (Patricia) Rummelhart of Hills.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Richard; one grandson: Jonathan Podaril; and one brother: Kenneth Rummelhart.
