The Lone Tree Wellness Center is slowly opening for members anxious to work out.
Starting Saturday, May 16, the center allowed up to four people at a time to work out in the same area at one time. Appointments are required, no walk-ins allowed.
Prior to May 16, the Wellness Center restricted workouts to one person in an area at a time, again by appointment only.
Wellness Center Director Jacquie Kraxner said even with the one person at a time rule, the center was seeing 18-20 people per day.
School Superintendent Ken Crawford, who oversees the Wellness Center, offered these guidelines:
• Must call to schedule appointment.
• Open to members only, no walk-ins.
• No more than four members in one area at a time.
• No group activities, such as basketball.
• Wipe down equipment before and after every use.
• Sanitize hands before and after gym use.
• Bring a change of shoes every time you come in to work out.
People working out will be required to maintain at least 6 feet between each other.
To schedule appointments, contact Kraxner at 563-340-6617.
In a report to the school board May 13, Crawford said the year had started off well for the Wellness Center.
“January was a good month for walk-ins,” Crawford said. “February was, too.”
