The Lone Tree school board received price estimates on renovating the south gym entrance – $500,000 to $535,000.
Superintendent Ken Crawford delivered the estimates during a work session on Aug. 28.
Those costs do not include security systems, landscaping and material testing.
Plans call for creating an entry way that is not right next to the gym floor and will provide access to the second-floor bleachers.
The new entrance would have more space for ticket sales. A trophy case is a possibility but could be cut from the plans to reduce costs.
“I’m OK with us waiting and seeing how much space is needed,” board President Christina Magruder said about the trophy case.
Crawford said either way that electricity should be run for the trophy cases so they can be installed in the future.
The superintendent said that the color scheme will be similar to the black and gold used in the Wellness Center.
Crawford said the plans call for having three doors at the entrance instead of the current four.
Magruder asked that designers make sure the outside is well lit for security and safety.
The school board took no action at the work session and will discuss the plans again at a future board meeting.
