Two Lone Tree High School students are raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s mission of curing blood cancers.
Natalie Patterson and Brynne Ronan are competing against other students nationwide for the society’s student of the year honor.
Patterson spoke at the Lone Tree school board meeting Feb. 12, telling about their project with a goal of $10,000.
The project has a number of fundraising prongs:
• Collecting tax-deductible donations until April 5.
• Holding a silent auction on March 13.
• Soliciting corporate sponsorships that start at $500.
• Selling advertising in the Grand Finale Gala program book.
Patterson said in addition to raising money for curing blood cancers the fundraiser is “a great leadership opportunity.”
Anyone interested in participating in the fundraiser may contact Patterson at NPatterson1020@gmail.com or Ronan at BrynneH6@gmail.com.
