Lone Tree sets new garbage pickup day

Posted

LONE TREE

Starting the week of Monday, May 6, Lone Tree will change its garbage pickup day to Wednesdays instead of Tuesdays. This change comes from Johnson County Refuse, Lone Tree’s garbage and recycling pickup provider, which sees packed Tuesdays and light Wednesdays.

Moving Lone Tree to Wednesday should ensure a steadier and more consistent pickup for Lone Tree residents.

Garbage pickup will stay on Tuesdays for the remainder of April.

Council action

The council began this meeting with their required public hearing for FY23-24 property tax levy.

Here, it was explained that the town of Lone Tree will experience a 1.82% growth in property taxes.

The council approved two street projects with LL Pelling, costing the city $252,542.30. The first will see repairs on Commercial Street. The other will repair shoulders on Devoe Street.

The council approved Saturday, May 18, as its annual Clean Up Day.

Additionally, the council appointed two members to the Board of Adjustment, Ben Slaughter and Eldon Slaughter.

Next meeting: Lone Tree will next meet on Tuesday, April 23 at 5:30 p.m. for a public hearing for the FY24-25 budget.
