Highland’s Charlie Aicher and Hillcrest’s London Schrock were the medalists in a girls’ triangular and boys’ quad with Lone Tree and Mediapolis on Thursday, April 22 at Blue Top Ridge Golf Course in Riverside.

The Huskies had the only full girls team and had the three best individual scores. Aicher finished first by 13 strokes with a score of 48 and Kerra Longvine was the runner-up medalist with 61 strokes. Jenna Waters was a stroke behind with a score of 62 and Kelsi Cerny shot a 72, giving Highland a team score of 242.

The Mediapolis boys won the boys’ quad with a total of 208, and Hillcrest finished second with 212. Highland edged Lone Tree for third place 239-246.

London Schrock’s 45 was the low score of the day and Luke Schrock tied for second with a 49, but lost the tiebreaker for the runner-up spot. They each had three pars over nine holes.

Jameson Kasperak led the Huskies with a total of 51, followed closely by Brock Schaedler with a 53.

Hillcrest’s Jace Rempel shot a round of 55, highlighted by a birdie on the par-4 hole five. His second shot took him from about 135 yards away to just eight feet from the hole, and he found the cup with just one putt.

Sebastian Jacque and Dominic Graap led the Lone Tree boys with 58 and 59 strokes respectively. Adam Knock shot a round of 61 and Oliver Altenhofen’s 68 rounded out the scoring. Nick Floyd and Tyce Alt each finished with 75 strokes.

Alex Niemeyer had his first bogey and his first par of the season, shooting a season-low for the second straight meet with a 63. Josiah Beachy finished with 73 strokes.

Peyton Yeggy had 60 strokes for the Huskies and Jaden Schmid finished with 75. Kelsi Cerny finished with a 72 for the Highland girls.

The Mediapolis and Lone Tree girls’ teams each had two participants. Allison Marshek led the Lady Lions with a score of 73 and Avery Grover shot a 78.

A week earlier, Kylie Patterson and Tessa Galloway led the Lady Lions with scores of 63, tying for second individually, in a 256-279 loss to Columbus at Cedarcrest Golf Course. Grover finished with 67 strokes.

Grover led the Lady Lions on Friday at the eight-team Girls Tiger Tourney at Marengo. She finished 23rd out of 34 individuals with 64 strokes. Galloway was 28th with 67 and Marshek finished 31st with a total of 68.
