The entire Lone Tree student body, as well as a large part of the community, came out in droves to support the school for its annual homecoming assembly.
Notable festivities included a performance by the Lone Tree dance team, a parade to the music of the school’s band, and of course the crowning of this year’s homecoming king and queen.
While the crowd enjoyed the performances, the loudest cheers went up when it came time to announce the homecoming royalty. The court consisted of seniors Alberto Cortes, Will Hotz, Madeline Jacque, Josie Mullinnix, Skylar Smith and Alex Viner.
After a short introduction to each of the candidates, multisport stars Viner and Mullinnix walked away as the 2020 Lone Tree homecoming king and queen.
The faculty engaged in a series of games and competitions with younger and older students alike. There was a hula hoop contest, a long game of Simon Says for the high schoolers, and speeches in support of various school sports teams.
When the festivities were over, the court rode away on golf carts, the students filed out class by class, and the staff began preparations for the football game (which Lone Tree won in a dominant fashion) later that evening.
