A trio of duals awaited each of the four teams at the Lone Tree home varsity quadrangular on Dec. 14.
The Lions welcomed Louisa-Muscatine, Regina, and Highland onto their home mat. Regina won all three of its duals and Louisa-Muscatine secured one victory.
Lone Tree Results
Lone Tree fell in all three duals. They lost against Louisa-Muscatine, 51-23, against Regina, 70-10, and against Highland, 36-15.
With the Lions having five wrestlers on their roster, they had to forfeit many matches in each of their three duals. Winning all three matches for Lone Tree was freshman Brock Nebergall at 113.
Nebergall only wrestled in two matches, winning by forfeit over Louisa-Muscatine.
In his match against Highland, Nebergall picked up a victory by decision, 8-1.
Against Regina, Nebergall was in control throughout the entire match, giving up no points and winning by major decision, 8-0.
Lone Tree’s Cole Walmsley at 106 won two matches by forfeit and one match by fall.
His two victories by forfeit came against Highland and Regina. He won by fall in 1:57 against Louisa-Muscatine.
At 138 Clemens Swaink was also a winner for Lone Tree. Against Highland, Swaink won by fall in 31 seconds.
Highland Results
Picking up a pair of wins, Highland left this quad with victories over Lone Tree, 36-15, and Louisa Muscatine, 40-36.
Their lone loss came against Regina, 51-21.
Winning three matches, one by forfeit, was Highland’s Tyler Pierson.
Pierson at 120 won by major decision, 17-5, against Louisa-Muscatine. Against Regina he again won by major decision, 12-4.
Sophomore Brock Thomann at 126 racked up enough points against Regina to win by tech fall, 15-0. Thomann also won by fall in 35 seconds against Louisa-Muscatine. Against Lone Tree he won by forfeit.
After losing a lengthy match by fall against Regina, freshman Gauge Richardson at 144 was able to bounce back with back to back victories.
Against Louisa-Muscatine, Richardson won by fall in 2:38. In his match against Lone Tree he won again by fall in 42 seconds.
Other Huskies to score victories at the quad were juniors Landon Bell at 113, Isaac Kleese at 165, and senior Jack Peiffer at 165. Bell, in 1:14, and Kleese, in 42 seconds, both won by fall against Regina. Peiffer won by fall in 28 seconds over Louisa-Muscatine.
