Lillian E. Angerer, 95, of Lone Tree, passed away Sunday, Dec.17, 2023, at the Lone Tree Health Care Center. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Muscatine. Memorials may be directed to the Lone Tree Fire and Rescue in memory of Lillian. Lillian Emma Vickers was born Oct. 16, 1928, in Bonaparte, Iowa, the daughter of Allen Kirk “Shorty” and Lillian Thelma (Lydolph) Vickers. Lillian was united in marriage to Kenneth C. Pettitt on Feb. 4, 1945, in Muscatine. Kenneth passed away in 1951. On June 8, 1952, Lillian married Robert L. Angerer in Muscatine. She was the manager of the Howard Johnson in Iowa City and head cook at the Lone Tree Community School. Lillian was a member of the Lone Tree Women’s Club and enjoyed playing Bingo, going to Senior Dining and Facebook on her computer.
Lillian will be deeply missed by her children: Allen T. (Jennifer) Pettitt of Coralville, Michelle R. Beal of Yukon, Oklahoma, Celoris A. (Michael) Watkinson of Apple Valley, Minnesota, and Robert K. (Christine) Angerer of Cedar Rapids; daughter-in-law: Joan Pettitt of Wind Lake, Wisconsin; 11 grandchildren; 27 great- grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; sister: Denise (Richard) Frerich of Wichita Falls, Texas; and cousin: Jim (Dora) Huff of Oklahoma.
Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; son: Kenneth C. Pettitt, II; grandson: Kirk A. Suiter; and brother: Michael Vickers.
