Kenneth Joseph King, 83, lived in Bradenton, Florida, for 36 years. He died on April 3, 2021. He was born Feb. 25, 1938, to Joseph and Pauline King in Parnell, Iowa, along with siblings Edith and Robert. He graduated high school at Iowa Mennonite High School in 1956. He served on the Mission Field in Europe where he met and married Panagiota Amanatithou (Penny) on March 5, 1961, in Chakones, Greece.

Ken had many occupations including being a mechanic, farmer, carpenter, and maintenance staff member for 16 years at The Tabernacle Church. He was a great-grandfather, grandfather, husband, dad, friend, and servant of Christ. He lived a life devoted to God in all that he did by serving others.

He was faithful at attending the men’s prayer meeting weekly, making coffee every Sunday morning for congregants, serving as a deacon and later as an elder. He cared about people by counseling, encouraging, and serving. He enjoyed spending time with family and kept busy fixing everything.

Ken is survived by his wife of 60 years: Penny King; sister: Edith Kenagy; children: Ellen Manus, John King, Annatolee King, and Michelle Walmsley; grandchildren: Phillip, Christos, Elizabeth, Hannah, James, Benjamin, Nathan, Rachel, Abigail, Arturo, Harley, and Hope; great-grandchildren: Laila, Phillip, Elina, Archer, and Andromeda.

Services were held Sunday, April 11, 2021 at The Tabernacle Church, Sarasota, Florida. The service will also be live-streamed on Facebook.
