Kathy West was born Aug. 21, 1954, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of James and Virginia (Miller) Ehrenfelt. She graduated from Mid-Prairie High School in 1972. Kathy was united in marriage to Alan West, and they later divorced.Kathy worked at Oral B for 27 years and the University of Iowa for 20 years. She was known to her family and friends as Chatty Kathy, she loved to talk. Kathy also enjoyed her dog, taking trips, day drives, movies, going out for dinner and spending time with her grandchildren.Kathy passed away Sunday, Nov. 26, 2023, at the age of 69.Kathy is survived by her mother: Virginia; three children: Heath (Angela) West of Wellman, Charlene Jones of Wellman and Jasmine (Jon) Harvey of Tiffin; seven grandchildren: Harlee and Oaklee West, Aidan West, Myles and Charlie Jones, Meagan and Jared Harvey; and a brother: Larry Ehrenfelt.
She was preceded in death by her father James.A celebration of life memorial gathering will be held Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023, at Powell Funeral Home Wellman from 4-7 p.m. Burial will be at a later date.
