The Kalona Volunteer Fire Department will host a carry-out pancake breakfast from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 10. Diners will still get their meals — three pancakes, three sausages and two eggs — straight off the grill, but there will be no seating for dining in. Food will be provided for a free will donation and proceeds will go to replace turn out gear for the department.
Lone Tree Fire and Rescue will host a drive-thru broasted chicken meal fundraiser on Saturday, April 10 from 5-7 p.m. A two-piece meal will cost $10 and a three-piece meal $11 or other free will donations. The chicken will be broasted on site and the meals will also include hash brown casserole, coleslaw and a cupcake.
Drivers should take Main Street to the school parking lot, and exit onto Hunskins Street by the bus barn, towards the fire station.
