The annual Kalona Days celebration has been canceled due to social distancing limitations imposed by the state.
This year’s event was scheduled for June 20, featuring a fun run, parade, entertainment and children’s activities.
Kalona Area Chamber of Commerce President Lyndon Hershberger said a scaled-down event may be planned later this year.
“(The Kalona Days Committee) will likely have a proposal for a scaled-down event that would be held later in the summer … if it’s safe to do so,” Hershberger said.
The chamber board of directors will consider options at its May meeting, he said.
