Deputy received a report of a vehicle that has been parked for several weeks in a city lot in Wellman. Tow tag palced on vehicle.
Report of a fire in the east ditch on highway 1 and 540th Street, Kalona, were the new electrical poles were recently put up. One is burning about 10 feet up the pole. Kalona Fire responded and extinguished the fire.
Caller in the 100 block of South Sixth Street, Kalona, reports she has a no trespass order on a male subject and he is banging on her door. Officer responded. A second call came in prior to the deputy’s arrival advising the male and a female were fighting in the front yard. Charges to be filed on a juvenile female subject for assault. The no trespass order is not being enforced as the male was allowed at the residence by the caller.
Caller reports a rendering semi struck the back end of a tractor at Kiwi Avenue and Highway 22, Kalona. The load of dead hogs is all over the roadway. No injuries. Operators Terry Deon Erb of Wellman and David Shady of Maquoketa. Environment DNR was contacted. Roadway was cleaned up and dead animals picked up by another truck. Cited Shady for passing too close to intersection and IHP DOT officer citing Shady for unsecured load.
Caller in the 200 block of A Avenue, Kalona, reports loud fireworks and firecrackers going off in the trailer park. Offer was advised. No further noises were reported.
Caller in the 3000 block of Highway 22, Riverside, reports a male subject in the ditch from a motorcycle accident. Riverside Fire, QRS, officers and ambulance responded. Ambulance transported patient to University of Iowa Hospital. Officer will file a state accident report.
