Joseph “Joey” H. Kos, 84 of New Boston, died Sunday, Dec. 13, 2020, at University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. Joe was born in Richmond, Iowa, on April 16, 1936, to Joseph V. and Myrtle E. (McCombs) Kos. He married Margaret Elaine Meyer on March 3, 1956, in Wayland, Iowa.

Joe was a veteran of the United States Navy and worked as a method setup engineer for John Deere. He was a member of the St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Marceline, Marceline Eagles, Brookfield Elks, former member of the Lions Club and VFW.

He is survived by his daughter Lisa Efker and Chris of Marceline, Missouri; two sons, Joseph Charles (Chuck) Kos and Laura of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and James Orville (Jim) Kos and Barb of Martelle, Iowa; grandchildren: Elias Kos, Sharlie Kos, Patrick Kos, Joseph “Jay” and Candice Kos, Tandi and Brett Johnson, Kailey and Kevin Reichert, and Kendra and Arandi Lopez; and great-grandchildren: Braiden Stephenson, Jaydin and Joseph “Joey” Kos, Izabella and Karter Kos.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Elaine; brother: John; and grandson: Stephen.

Military graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Friday, April 16, 2021, at Holy Trinity Cemetery in Richmond, Iowa. The family suggest memorials to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Fr. McCartan School Foundation, and these can be mailed to Delaney Funeral Home 1720 N. Missouri Ave., Marceline, MO 64658.
