Jeanne Zaruba, 74, of Lone Tree, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2020, at the Lone Tree Health Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2020, at the Snyder and Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Lone Tree. Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2020, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Family requests all that attend to wear a mask due to Covid19. Gloria Jeanne Wheeler was born on March 31, 1946, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Lyle Oliver and Marcella Mildred (Flickinger) Wheeler. She was a 1964 graduate of City High. On April 15, 1983, Jeanne was united in marriage to John Zaruba in Lone Tree. Jeanne worked at the University of Iowa and later for Dunn Transportation.
She enjoyed playing Bingo, Swedish weaving, attending her children’s school events and wintering in Florida with her husband, but most of all, Jeanne dearly loved to spend time with her family, especially the grandchildren.
Jeanne will be deeply missed by her husband: John of Lone Tree; her children: Ron (Carol) Godsey of Little Rock, Ark., Cindy (Jay) Waddell of Decatur, Ill. and Josh (Ashley) Zaruba of Lone Tree; 17 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one sister: Donna Wheeler of Iowa City.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents; daughter: Lynn Pearson; son: Richard Godsey; and one brother: Larry Wheeler.
