Jane Victorine, 79, of Wellman, formerly of Kalona, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021.  She has been cremated and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date due to COVID-19 safety concerns.

Jane Kalahoaalohaaloha (Benito) Victorine was born Nov. 20, 1941, in Kukuihaele, Hawaii, the daughter of Clemente and Jane Benito. She graduated from high school and attended Brigham Young University, Hawaii.  Jane moved to Iowa in the 70s and worked in production at United Technologies Automotive (UTA) in Iowa City, in production at CIVCO Medical Instrument Company in Kalona, and in food services at Pleasantview Nursing Home before retiring.

She was an intensely caring and funny person. Friends and strangers were frequently reminded how special and loved they felt when they were in her presence. Her faith in the Lord was strong, and she taught many generations to know the Lord. She was a member of the Shiloh church and enjoyed cooking Hawaiian foods, singing, sewing, caring for plants, and studying God’s Word.

Preceding Jane in death were her parents and five siblings: Clarence Benito, Alice Oliveria, Ralph Benito, Wayne Wipa, and Ray Wipa.

She is survived by four siblings: Rose Arvidson of San Jose, Calif., Ginger Ohumukini of Bakersville, Calif., Mark (Shirley) Ohumukini of Hawaii, Wesley (Marilyn) Kalei of Hawaii; a number of nieces and nephews; and her dog, Moki.
