Isidore “Doc” Weber

Isidore “Doc” Weber was born Dec. 20, 1930, in Clear Creek Township, Keokuk County, Iowa,  the son of John and Cecelia (Peiffer) Weber.  He attended Clear Creek Academy.  Doc served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War.  

Doc was united in marriage to Linda Dumont on Sept. 19, 1999, in Las Vegas, Nev.  He has been a farmer, owned a restaurant, sold cars, bought and sold timber in four states and drove a cement truck for 28 years. 

He enjoyed wintering in Arizona, being outdoors, collecting coins, beer mugs and cut glass.  Doc passed away on Thursday, Aug. 13, 2020, at the V. A. Medical Hospital in Iowa City, at the age of 89.

He is survived by his wife: Linda of Kalona; three children: Joyce (Frank) Ruplinger of Iowa City, John (Sarah) Weber of North Liberty and Travis (Kelly) Weber of Tiffin; two stepchildren: Jason Dumont of Solon and Jody (Torrey) Gingerich of Riverside; 14 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; a brother: Tony Weber of Washington; and two sisters: Celeste Woltering of Washington and Martha Kleinmeyer of Iowa City. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son: Bob Weber; a stepson: Rodney Dumont; 10 siblings: Bernadine Conklin, Rita Vogel, Norbert, Wilfrid, Ed, Luke, Mark, Paul, Clete and Clare.
Graveside services were held Monday, Aug. 17, 2020, at the Friends Cemetery in Richland, Iowa.  A memorial fund has been established for the Wounded Warrior Project.
