Highland put a large contingent of players onto the Class A District 6 All-District teams after finishing the year with a winning record for the second year in a row.

The three Huskies named to the first team were all seniors.
Offensive tackle and defensive end Zack Lasek was named to the first team. He had 10.5 tackles for loss including 4.5 sacks. His tackles for loss were good for fourth in the conference. He was second on the team in total tackles with 54.

Linebacker and running back Cole Adamson was awarded first-team honors. He was third in the district in total tackles with 68. Adamson was sixth in the district in total yards per carry (minimum 50 rushes) at 6.5 yards per carry.

The final first-team honoree was Mason McFarland, who put up big numbers as Highland’s top wide receiver. McFarland was the top dog in two statistics, yards receiving and touchdown receptions. He has 625 yards on 25 catches and scored six touchdowns. On defense, McFarland had 27 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and an interception.

Highland had three second-team players including Isaac Black, Owen Donovan and Cael Yeggy.

Black was a big presence on the offensive and defensive lines for the Huskies. As a defensive tackle, he recorded 35 tackles and three tackles for loss. He helped anchor an offensive line that went on to rush for 2,100 yards.

Donovan had 726 yards rushing for Highland and scored eight rushing touchdowns. His big-play ability earned him a spot on the All-District team. His season long was a 70-yard rushing touchdown and 87-yard receiving touchdown. Donovan caught five passes for 165 yards and two touchdowns.

Cael Yeggy was tough to block on the defensive line and was tied for second on the team with 54 total tackles. He had three tackles for loss on the season.

The honorable mention category features quarterback Connor Grinstead, free safety Zane Arnold and cornerback Bryce Waters.

Grinstead threw for 920 yards and completed 47% of his passes in his first season under center for the Huskies. He also rushed for 506 yards and six touchdowns.

Arnold was a step above when it came to interceptions with six. The next highest in the district was three. He also helped the Huskies out on offense, scoring one touchdown on seven catches for 78 yards.

Waters had 19 total tackles as a cornerback and also created two turnovers with one interception and one fumble recovery.

The Huskies golden award, which is an All-District recognition for a player who had their season cut short due to injury, was given to Derick Sandburg. Sandburg missed a few weeks due to a foot injury early in the season. He finished the year with 13 tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss.
