RIVERSIDE

Highland’s wrestling tournament was a bustling success. Highland ranked 9 of 17 squads with 77 points.

Their top finish came from Chloe Sexton (16-8) in the 190 category. She won her first match by fall and took first place with a decision win over West Liberty’s Amerie Alvarado. But it took a full three rounds of effort for Sexton to overcome Alvarado who had the early lead.

Sexton could be seen constantly checking the scoreboard and knowing she needed to work to catch up, and she did just that, racking up points in the third round to take the win.

Highland’s Angelina Roling (20-4) placed second at 110, falling in the 1st place matchup to West Liberty’s Alissa Sanchez.

Peggy Miller (18-12) finished third place at 155, Jenna Bose (9-17) placed fourth at 145 and Abbie Grout (12-13) ranked sixth at 100.
