The Highland girls basketball team closed out the regular season portion of their schedule, splitting four games.
The Huskies’ busy week started with a 45-30 home loss to Winfield-Mount Union Tuesday, Jan. 28.
Two nights later, they got in the win column with a 52-33 win at Columbus. Senior Alyssa Brase led Highland with a double-double effort of 18 points and 14 rebounds. Jenna Sands added 13 points to go along with six steals.
After falling to Danville Friday night, the Huskies topped Hillcrest Academy 68-28 Monday night on Senior Night. Freshman Dani Laughlin led all scorers with 23 points on five made 3-pointers. Brase contributed with a 21-point effort.
Highland finishes the regular season with a 6-16 overall record and 4-12 mark in Southeast Iowa Super Conference play.
