Mid-Prairie’s football opener on Friday ended in heartbreaking fashion.
Attempting to drive for a winning touchdown in the final seconds, an interception of a pass finished off a furious rally by the Golden Hawks. They rallied from a three-touchdown deficit only to fall short in the final minute of a 27-21 loss to Sigourney Keota.
Senior running back Kayden Reinier rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns. Quarterback Vinnie Bowlin passed for 238 yards and a TD.
