Gary B. Walsh, 77, of Riverside, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Riverside with a 2:30 p.m. Rosary Service. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at the church. Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery at a later date. Following the services at the church, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Riverside V.F.W. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Gary. Gary Bernard Walsh was born on June 14, 1946, in Washington County, Iowa the son of Bernard Francis and Velma Laura (Thomann) Walsh. He was a 1964 graduate of Highland High School. On September 18, 1965, Gary was united in marriage to LeAnn Marie Kron at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Riverside. Gary worked for Moore Business Forms for 43 year and farmed in the Riverside area. He was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a social member of the AMVETS. Gary enjoyed woodworking, trapping, hunting, fishing, outdoor activities and playing in euchre tournaments.
Gary will be deeply missed by his wife, LeAnn of Riverside; his children, Tami (Dan) Simon of Riverside and Tim (Trisha) Walsh of Riverside; five grandchildren, Brett (MacKinze) Walsh of Riverside, Bailey Walsh of Riverside, Jared Simon of Hills, Dana Simon of Washington and Erin Simon of Washington; one great granddaughter, Brinley Walsh of Riverside and two sisters-in-law, Joan Walsh and Ann Walsh.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Leonard Walsh, Bob Walsh and Loren (Willadean) Walsh and one sister, Marilyn (Jack) Muller.
