Elva Irene Miller was born Aug. 6, 1930, in rural Kalona, Iowa, the daughter of Omar and Laura Miller. She did quilting, sewing, babysitting and volunteered at the Crowded Closet. Elva was a faithful member of the Fairview Mennonite Church.
Elva passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2019, at Pleasantview Home in Kalona at the age of 89 years.
Elva is survived by four siblings: Ida Fern Miller, Marvin Miller, Ellis (Marcia) Miller all of Kalona; and Miriam (David) Hershberger of Sarasota, Fla.; and 12 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother-in-law: Paul H. Miller; and two nephews: Steve Hershberger and Doyle Miller.
A funeral service washeld Sunday, Nov. 10, 2019, at Fairview Mennonite Church, in rural Kalona. Pastor Conrad Hertzler and Pastor Perry Miller officiated. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established for Pleasantview Home and Fairview Mennonite Church.
