Duane Keith Krueger, 79, of Lone Tree passed away Saturday, Aug. 22, 2020, at Pioneer Park in Lone Tree. Visitation will be held on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2020, from 2-3 p.m. at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services, Lone Tree. Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2020, at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery at a later date. Duane was born Oct. 12, 1940, to Walter F. Krueger and Gladys P. Krueger (Attig) in Lone Tree, Iowa. Duane had a passion for education, having taught mathematics and computer education at Lone Tree Community School District and Turkey Valley Community School District for a total of nearly 45 years. Throughout his teaching career, he was heavily involved in coaching various high school sports, including football, basketball, and track. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking, gardening, tinkering with computers, and taking care of his horse, Charlie.
Duane will be deeply missed by his children: Angela Jenkins of Aurora, Colo., Anthony Krueger of Lone Tree, Holly (Michael) Gonet of Marietta, Ga., Nathan (Tracy) Krueger of West Salem, Wis., Daniel (Christine) Krueger of La Crosse, Wis., and Joseph Krueger of Horton, Iowa; and 16 grandchildren. Surviving siblings include: Alan (Judy) Krueger of New Martinsville, W. Va., Dwight (Julie) Krueger of Nichols and Ray “Steven John” Krueger and partner, Francoise of Australia.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents: Walter and Gladys and one brother: Ronald Krueger.
