Donald Gail Gingerich, 84, of Stover, Mo., died Monday, Dec. 28, 2020, at Capital Region Medical Center. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side.

He was born Aug. 29, 1936, in Kalona, Iowa, to Joe P. and Lula (Stutzman) Gingerich.

On Nov. 23, 1968, he was united in marriage to Ellen Beachy, daughter of the late Ray and Anna May (Miller) Beachy of Kalona, Iowa.

He served in the United States Army, in Korea, from 1955-1957, as an armored tank mechanic. He grew up farming with his dad raising turkeys and sheep. In 1987, he moved to Stover, Mo., where he and his wife, raised game birds.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Stover.

   He enjoyed gardening and sharing his produce with the neighbors and friends. He loved growing flowers, fishing and hunting. He especially loved gospel singing, alongside his wife, at nursing homes around the area and in church.  After retirement, he enjoyed camping and most recently wood working projects made with cedar.

In addition to his wife of 52 years, he is survived by daughters: Donetta and husband Doug Baker of Greeley, Colo., Amy and husband Ben Roskilly of Decatur, Texas, Gina and husband Jimmy Nolting of Florence, Mo., Tammy and husband Raymond Spencer of Indianola, Iowa, Tracy and husband Irving Garbison of Fulton, Mo., and Jenny and husband Doug Riggs of Gravois Mills, Mo.; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and many relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; seven siblings; and daughter: Robin Albert.

A private memorial service, with full military honors, will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions  can be made to the family.
