Daniel “Danny” E. Aggson was born Aug. 8, 1937, in Wellman, Iowa, the son of William and Lenora “Peg” (Ulin) Aggson. He graduated from Wellman High School in 1956. On Nov. 27, 1960, Daniel was united in marriage to Sandra Black in Washington.
Daniel worked in construction for 28 years with Allen Masonry and LL Pelling. Following years were working at the Mid-Prairie Community School District in transportation and custodial services.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Wellman Fire Department, charter member of the Wellman Volunteer Ambulance, and assistant Boy Scout leader. The highlight of his life was his grandchildren. His wife, son and daughter came in a close second. Danny enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, spending time with his family, and coffee time with the guys. He never knew a stranger.
Daniel passed away Friday, Sept. 10, 2021, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City at the age of 84.
Daniel is survived by his wife: Sandra; two children: Jeffrey (Janice) Aggson of Wellman and Kimberly (Darcy) Broszeit of Wellman; two grandchildren: Brandon and Reaghan Aggson; and two sisters: Thelda Bringman of Wellman and Kathy Pfeiffer of Washington.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law: Bill Bringman.
A graveside service was held Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021, at the Wellman Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established to go toward the Iowa State Fair Blue Ribbon Foundation. Messages and tributes may be sent to the family at www.powellfuneralhomes.com
